Liverpool winter wedding photography at Leaf (Anna + Paul)
Ok so it’s not very often that I photograph a winter wedding… but Anna and Paul’s was a wonderful reminder of why they can be so amazing.
I’m not going to lie, photographically they can be very tricky – low light, early darkness, bitter cold, minimal outdoor time and space to work with… and this one was no exception. But what it reminded me is that these adverse conditions force you to look elsewhere for the magical light and space, and by embracing the low and unusual light rather than working against it, you can end up with some amazing results you might never have had on a warm summer’s day.
Anna and Paul’s day was a wonderfully atmospheric, intimate, loving celebration, bathed in candlelight from start to finish and full of laughter, tears, warmth, love and fun. The ceremony at Crosby Hall Educational Trust was spine-tingling – Anna is an incredible singer and her friends performed beautiful songs, her uncle conducted the ceremony and the whole thing was surrounded by candles scattered absolutely everywhere. Then everyone hopped on a bus into Liverpool city centre to the gorgeous Leaf for food, drink, speeches and music.
A really brilliant day with such a lovely, friendly, funny, and utterly loved-up couple who really did reignite my love for winter weddings. Thanks so much Anna and Paul for letting me be part of your beautiful day, I absolutely loved it.
