Baba + Boo cloth nappies: an extraordinary shoot for extraordinary times!

I’ve been a huge fan of Baba + Boo and their beautiful cloth nappies for quite a while now. It’s not just their nappies that are gorgeous, they’re headed up by the lovely Eve who pours her absolute heart and soul into everything she does. I love the personal stories behind the nappies, the unique designs and the painstaking care taken to run the company ethically and build it all on personality and love.
When Eve got in touch to ask me to photograph their gorgeous, brand new Senses collection, I was over the moon – especially as I knew this would be no ordinary shoot. Thanks to being right in the middle of a global pandemic we were completely unable to shoot this collection in the same way as we’d usually have done. Luckily, Eve isn’t a woman to give up and decided to embrace the spirit of the times and ask me to shoot this collection in the same way as the Doorstep Shoots I’d been doing during lockdown… visiting various real cloth-bum families on their own front doorsteps around Manchester!
Eve interviewed me about the challenges and unique experiences of shooting during lockdown – you can catch this here if you’re interested!
We had a blast, and I loved spending time with these scrumptious little ones and their families. The nappies themselves are just wonderful – this collection is all inspired by Eve’s love of the seaside and the feelings and senses that a day at the beach evokes. We might not have been on a sandy beach but I feel that they really captured the spirit of this crazy, unusual time and Manchester did us proud! I really hope you love these shots as much as we do.
I absolutely love shooting for creative kids’ brands, so if you’d like any some unique photography for your own kids’ brand please do get in touch I’d love to hear from you!
