It’s been a crazy year this year with heaps of change – moving house, my youngest starting school, my eldest starting his GCSEs… Work has been super-busy with more commercial photography than usual for some ace kids’ brands, including Tommee Tippee, Baba + Boo and Acorn & Pip. I’ve been travelling further afield for family shoots much more than usual too, across the UK and abroad.
It’s felt like such a whirlwind and I’m only just starting to catch my breath as Christmas chaos hits. But I feel very fortunate to have had such a full year, with all these ace experiences crammed in. I might look about 10 years older and 20 years more haggard but I’m finishing the year feeling very grateful and excited about what’s to come 🙂
One wonderful constant I’ve had throughout is that this is the first year where I’ve not split my photographic work between families and weddings. I stopped taking wedding bookings 2-3 years ago and shot my last ever wedding last summer. So 2019 has been the first year where I’ve really been able to give all of my time and attention to the wonderful family work that brings me so much joy. Taking pictures for these ace people and documenting for them all the good stuff, their own everyday beauty and magic, makes my heart leap more than ever.
It really is such a happy, hilarious, heart-warming job and I’m so grateful, as ever, to all the wonderful families who trusted me this year to come and capture these magical times and magical people for them. As you can see from the pics below – they’re a bunch of bloody belters.
Thanks so much dudes, it’s been a riot ⚡️?
Thank you again to all these wonderful families – I’m so lucky to have shared these times with you!
Happy Christmas and New Year folks, see you on the other side!
