Laura and Greg’s seaside engagement shoot was one of my favourite shoots of the year, and from that moment on I knew that their wedding would be heaps of fun.
Laura and Greg smile and laugh pretty much all the time. They are both real rays of sunshine to be around and their wedding day was no exception. Even the vicar appeared to have been a stand-up comedian in another life – he was hilarious! I’ve never known so many people laugh out loud during one wedding ceremony! It was a very apt start to a day that would continue to be filled with laughter. The whole day really reflected how fun and light-hearted they both are – they spent a lot of effort making sure that all their guests were amused, entertained and laughing throughout the whole day – a photobooth, casino and space-hopper racing – and the end result was a real joy to photograph.
As well as being full of fun, the wedding was also chock-full of gorgeous details such as the vintage suitcase table plan, the sweet table, photo bunting and the luggage tag message board. I really loved the cute button theme that ran throughout the details – on the candle jars, the place-cards, cupcakes and favours.
Greg is a professional photographer himself, and I loved how he had incorporated photos into the day with the amazing free photobooth (in which the owner kindly let me install myself for a while to capture all the shenanigans inside!) and the photograph table cards.
Unfortunately it rained throughout most of the wedding reception, which meant that for the couple shots we were constantly dodging raindrops, dashing out every time there was a minute’s break, and sheltering under trees and canopies. But as you can see from the pictures, Laura and Greg remained as smily and upbeat as ever and the rain didn’t ruin things one bit. Thankfully the rain broke for a good half hour or so later on to enable a quick bout of space hopper racing! I think this was one of my favourite parts of the day so am so thankful we managed to squash it in!
Such a fun, happy day with such sunny, gorgeous people – Laura and Greg, I really loved being part of it all, thanks for having me!
