I have been so excited to share this very special wedding with you! It’s not every day one of your couples tells you that they are getting married at a waterfall and to say I was looking forward to shooting this would be a massive understatement. Their wedding was incredible for so many reasons, but the main one being simply how goddamn lovely Liz and Tom are and how much I enjoyed their company and the laughter and warmth that was absolutely everywhere on the day. The setting was breathtakingly beautiful and felt spine-tinglingly spiritual: an outdoor ceremony at a little prayer lodge nestled in the Welsh hills overlooking the incredible Pistyll Rhaedr Waterfall at Llanrhaedr. As well as the amazing location, Tom and one of his best men Ben decorated the prayer lodge themselves on the morning of the wedding and a family friend played an acoustic guitar and harmonica while everyone huddled together, so despite the cold weather it all felt so personal and warm. The weather wasn’t kind to us at the ceremony and started raining just as Liz arrived, but I thought that the fact that everyone ended up nestled together under a ceiling of umbrellas just made it all the more intimate and special and it felt like a little wild and romantic wonderland.
Other things I loved about the day: Liz’s beautiful Jenny Packham dress – vintage Hollywood glamour all over (and HOW smokin’ hot does she look?!)…….Tom’s sharp Aubin & Wills wool suit (and hilariously long red socks!)……. the non-matching nude bridesmaids dresses (NB DRESSES, NOT nude bridesmaids before the men amongst you frantically scroll down the page)……. Liz and Tom sheltering & laughing behind an umbrella while the waterfall sprayed them unexpectedly……. the best man Steve with his baby strapped to his front in the group shots……. the yellow submarine cake…… the dancing….. the pleasure of meeting the lovely RMW Real Bride Karen (bridesmaid/photoboother/dancer extraordinaire) the hazy sun making a wonderful golden hour appearance……. it was all just totally wonderful.
