I loved this shoot! Alice and Chris are friends of another ace family who I’ve taken photos for a few times, so I knew they’d be my kind of people. The morning was such good fun – lots of playing, eating, cuddling, kisses, pouting (check out that pout!), reading, tickling, petting the cats and being thrown about a lot. Alice told me before the shoot, “People say Mia looks like a china doll but she’s more like a bull in a china factory,” and I absolutely loved this about her. She looks like butter wouldn’t melt but was boisterous, independent and full of mischief, fun and adventure. I also very much appreciate her attitude towards eating. The bowl over the face moment sealed the deal of Mia as my kind of gal!
If you’re wondering why the dressing gown in the last few shots, there was an ‘incident’ when Mia being flung around in her vest without a nappy on when a (thankfully solid) unexpected poo appeared and started to escape. Fortunately we spotted it poking out of the side of her vest (mercifully poppered shut) as Chris was chucking her in the air, so an intervention was possible before too much damage could be done ?. This was all captured on film and whilst I’ve not included it in the blog post (visible turds are possibly not the kind of thing I wanted to inflict on unsuspecting visitors to my website!) I did ask Alice and Chris whether they wanted me to include this in their final set or not, and they said absolutely yes – it was one of the funniest moments of the whole morning. Again, my kind of people! Here are a few of my favourites…
