Manchester family photographer {Ant, Zoe, Woody + Ettie’s doorstep shoot + lockdown interview}

June 4, 2020

As part of May’s doorstep shoots, I asked families about their own unique experience of lockdown. I wanted to build up a little collection of our different memories and experiences of this strange old time – hopefully a meaningful little ray of sunshine amongst all this chaos. Many families answered these and they’ve been so heartwarming to read! I’m sharing them on the blog during June, and I really hope you enjoy reading them as much as I did.

I’ll hand you over to the lovely Zoe!

What has lockdown looked like for you and your family?

The bedroom has turned into a home office. The kitchen a class room. Mum and Dad into shit supply teachers!

Favourite lockdown activities?

Celebrating Ettie turning three. Seeing Woody cycling for miles. Finding a field with a rope swing. BBQing in April. Drinking on a Monday!

Most memorable / moving / thought-provoking lockdown moment?

Watching the kids go from brother and sister to best friends.

Funniest lockdown moment?

Woody drawing a picture of his teacher, complete with perfectly pert boobs.

Most joyful lockdown moment?

Watching the kids have the time of their lives in the world’s tiniest paddling pool.

What do you most want to remember about this time right now?

That we won some battles, failed loads, but ultimately made the best of a bloody tough situation.

Has lockdown changed you, either as individuals or as a family?

Yes, we’re all fatter. And hairier.

Aside from the obvious of being able to see your family and friends again, what are you most looking forward to in life after lockdown?

Eating in a restaurant. Drinking in a bar. Deleting Zoom and seeing real actual people. Letting the kids have some freedom.

Thanks so much to Ant, Zoe, Woody + Ettie for brightening up my own lockdown, I had a blast!
