It’s well over a year ago since the gorgeous sun-filled autumn wedding of this lovely pair… I’m on a big catch up with blogging and I absolutely loved looking through these pictures again and reliving the big day of Jen and Matt. I challenge you not to crack a grin when you see Jen’s beautiful smile… Such a great couple through and through, and always great to work in good old Manchester, I love this city, especially in that amazing sunlight.

Oh wow Anna. Im lost for words. I’m just starting out as a wedding photographer and this is my ideal of where Id like to get one day. Can I be really cheeky and ask what lens you took most of the close up shots of the couple with ? 35mm? and what your approach to processing is ? the colours are so natural and the depth to the images reminds me of film. So inspirational and I will refer to this for ages to keep me inspired
Ah thanks so much Paul! What a lovely thing to say! That means a lot 🙂 My workhorse lens is the Canon 35mm 1.4 – I absolutely love it and this is what most of the portraits were taken with. For processing, I cull using Photomechanic, do my basic RAW adjustments in Lightroom, then run the adjusted files through a tweaked film preset in Alien Skin Exposure, then I open each individually in Photoshop to make any final adjustments, retouching, cropping, black and white conversions etc. A long-winded process but it’s the only way I’m happy with the results! Thanks again for the kind words.
