My 2017: families

2017 was a huge year for me… After 10 years of shooting weddings I made the scary decision to stop taking wedding bookings to fully focus on family photography, the thing that in recent years has become my absolute passion and joy.

The more families I photograph, the deeper I fall in love with doing this. For me it’s the best thing in the world to show families how beautiful their love is, how they look at each other, how they reach out to each other, how they laugh with each other, how they hold each other… to enable them to remember all the little, soon-to-change and all-too-easily forgotten details of their family at this point in time, to enable them to stop amid the chaos that is family life and savour and appreciate what they have, these precious connections and the wonderful people they share their life with.

It brings me so much joy to create these images and it just comes back a million times over when I see how much joy they bring to the people in them. Thank you so much to all these lovely families who have invited me to document their lives this year, it’s been an absolute pleasure and I can’t explain how grateful I am that I get to do this.

Here are a few of my favourites from 2017…

  1. Matt Parry

The tender moments, the too much sugar moments and everything in between. Its honest and its everything family life is all about…..a beautiful collection

  2. Sam Docker

I bloody love your work Anna, I love how you see absolute beauty in moments we just take for granted. This is a stellar round up! HNY to you and the fam! x

  3. Lee Allen

    Truly amazing stuff.

    Mind blown!

  4. craig williams

Beautiful and crazy and claim all at the same time. The only real family photographer in Uk.

  5. David Jenkins

Amazing Anna. You make it look so effortless and it’s so difficult getting moments like these. Love your work.

  6. Aga Tomaszek

You are hands down the best family photographer in this country. This collection gave me chills all the way down my spine, how can someone hit on the nail of human nature whilst photographing allegedly the most mundane aspects of every day life is beyond me. It’s so, SO HARD to do and you, quite simply, have a gift at nailing it every damn time.

  7. Dom // York Place

Oh Anna this is a gorgeous set 🙂 if I ever have a baby I would love for you to capture our memories. You have a special knack for making even the ordinary moments extraordinary. ❤️

  8. Andy Wardle

Love these Anna. All shot with the same consistent beauty that you have been shooting for the last 10 years! Have an awesome 2018 missus! x

  9. Matthew Long

Stunning work Anna, absolute master of your craft.
