Now that spring has sprung and sunshine has been rearing its lovely head, my thoughts are already turning to the summer ahead… as well as memories from last summer… which reminded me of these photos I took on a family weekend away in the beautiful Peak District last July for my stepmum’s birthday. It was absolutely glorious, full of fun and laughter, family, dogs, sunshine, campervans, and most importantly kids, my lovely lad Joe and my gorgeous niece and nephew Niamh and Reuben. Joe loves spending time with his cousins, and this weekend they had an absolute blast. Clean and tidy kids have their place, sure, but for me, I get the most joy seeing them get the chance to be free to forget about all that boring stuff and be semi-feral in the great outdoors, sticky, happy kids rampaging giggling around the countryside, smeared head to toe in dirt and ice-lollies. For me, this is what the best childhood memories are all about, and weekends like this are so precious.

Beautiful work Anna – and what family photography should be all about. Lovely!
Ahh, love it! These have filled today with warm sunshine! That little dude of yours is such a character! xx
Love how you capture the realness of a child’s spirit. Family time is the most precious time if all. Your boy is growing up fast! Thanks for sharing.
Gorgeous portraits Anna, as always!
Made me all melancholy longing for some long summer days spent with family and friends.
